The 2019 U.S. Department of Defense Warrior Games have begun! The Warrior Games is an annual competition that brings together servicemen and women and many injured soldiers from across the country. This year’s games are being held in Tampa, Florida, and the public is invited to watch the competition. If you’re local, head to the Tampa Convention Center to catch some of the action.
The Warrior Games will include more than a dozen diverse sporting events such as powerlifting, rowing, swimming and cycling. The event kicked off on June 21 and concludes June 30. It will follow an Olympic-style format that allows for intense competition.
This event is a wonderful chance for soldiers and wounded veterans to display their skills and talents in a community that supports and honors their sacrifices. It’s nearly impossible to find competitions for injured, ill, or disabled servicemen and women, but the 2019 Warrior Games fully accepts and encourages all our country’s heroes to participate.
